The new puzzle game from Lazyland.

The greek game developer Lazyland announced Oh my G.H.O.S.T., a free-to-play puzzle game.

After soft-launching on Facebook on January, the game was immediately released on Android and iOS. The word G.H.O.S.T. on the game title stems from the initials of the names of the 5 star ghosts that are accompanying the players through the end of their journey.

The mystery begins...
According to the game's scenario,
The Chambers Academy of haunting, established in the early 18th Century is one of the leading institutions in the world when it comes to the instruction of proper haunting conduct, scare tactics, lore creation and overall shaping of future creatures of the darkness.

While the reputation of the school is immaculate, there are those among the students who lack the dedication-or perhaps the ability- to make the desired progress. In order to support these students the Chambers Intensive Summer Camp program was launched in 1995. The program consists of a series of field trips in places of mystery and mysticism, its primary aim being to offer the students a month of professional-level haunting experience in order to better prepare them for their lives after graduation.

The story begins at the start of the Summer Camp program: a group of misfits who failed to live up to the Academy’s standards are sent off to locations such as Area 51, Loch Ness, Easter Island, Stonehenge etc and given certain objectives to fulfil.

Gameplay
Oh my G.H.O.S.T. is a match 3 game consisting of several themed packs and more than 100 levels. In each pack players travel to different mystical places around the world trying to achieve each level’s special goal.
Players can match 2 or more ghosts of the same color horizontally or vertically but not diagonally, in order to clear the stage. As elevating, players come across different dark obstacles that make their missions more and more difficult to be fulfilled. The teacher of the Academy, Mrs. Gingerbread, is always on their side to guide them around. Magical power ups can change the outcome of the game and help players get along with their goals.

Ghost characters
The 5 ghosts are:
oh-my-ghost-galeGale. A shy, introverted ghost. She is often found hiding in corners, hovering around by herself and generally avoiding crowds. She is softly-spoken and polite to a fault. Gale doesn’t really talk much; when she does find the courage to contribute in a conversation she usually apologises straight away, for no apparent reason. Her biggest fear is actually having to socialise with her coursemates.

Her second biggest fear is making a mistake which focuses the teacher’s attention on her. Gale has a wonderful singing voice that the others never get to listen to because of her reluctance to sing in front of crowds.

Heather, who has no interest in following the Chamber’s Academy curriculum and she makes it plenty clear. A highly intelligent ghost, she believes that traditional oh-my-ghost-galehaunting methods are a relic of the past and should not be practised. Heather has decided to focus her attention on online haunting instead and is the proud instigator of several incidents behind internet ‘creepypasta’ stories.

Heather is also president of New Media Grim, a student society dedicated to online haunting. Heather has the strange hobby of reading encyclopaedias –not selectively, but as someone would read a novel. The information she has accumulated over the years paired with her intellect and her consistently snarky attitude render her a nightmare for the teachers of the Academy.

Olivia which appears as a pretty, airheaded ghost. She is bubbly, sociable and fun to be around. Her favourite topics of discussion include boys, ghosts and ghouls that she idolises and fashion; she cares for little else besides that.

Olivia is a very compassionate person, which makes her likeable, and also very competent at reading others, which gives her an advantage over the rest of her course mates: she has a knack for finding the most effective haunting methods by evaluating a person’s character or the kind of crowd a place is likely to attract. When it comes to scare tactics, she is one of the most accomplished students. In fact, Olivia has the potential to become a very successful ghost, if she puts her mind into it. She has a crush on Tony, and she is terrified of anyone finding out.

Sid is the rebel of the group. A pacifist and a believer in the possibility of a harmonious co-existence between humans and ghosts, his dislike for the practices and ethics of Chambers Academy is evident through his lack of participation. Sid is an easy going guy, but is not particularly interested in having friendly relations with any of his course mates; he mostly keeps to himself.

In fact he is so indifferent towards the others that he doesn’t even bother learning their names, often mistaking one ghost for another. An indication that he likes someone is when he assigns a nickname to them. Gale is the first one to earn a nickname from Sid, who calls her Hush. Sid is blacklisted by most of the teachers
because of his unwillingness to conform to the Academy guidelines. Sid is a film freak and a big fan of spaghetti westerns. The genre he likes the least is horror.

Tony is the son of one of the most esteemed teachers in the academy. His father is a ghost known for haunting the Mermaid Inn, often claimed to be the most haunted pub in England. He has also released several publications as an academic, including textbooks used by the academy such as ‘Displacing Objects: methods and effects’ and ‘The ethical implications of ghostly possession’.

oh-my-ghost-galeDue to his father’s reputation, Tony receives a lot of pressure from his family and teachers, which has a great toll on his confidence and causes him to underperform as a student. Tony is well liked by his course mates because of his sense of humor and his cheerful personality. He is the only one in the group who actually enjoys the Summer Camp program as he has always been fascinated by places of mystery and legend. His past research into these places often proves invaluable to the group. Tony is easily scared and secretly hopes never to encounter anything supernatural during their travels.
