LazyLand launched a classic title for smartphones.

Mahjong Duels is a 2013 board game developed and published by LazyLand, a Greek Social Gaming. Mahjong Duels is an online multiplayer version of the Chinese Mahjong Solitaire Game (also known as Shanghai Solitaire) and it uses the Mahjong tiles. It can be played on Android, iOS, Amazon Kindle, and even Facebook.

The only available mode is exclusively online. Mahjong Duels is based on the traditional Chinese board game of skill and strategy Mahjong. The game gives players the opportunity to compete live with their friends. The goal of the game is to be the first to match the symbols for bamboo, dragons, digits and other elements. Mahjong Duels version includes a feature which rewards the faster player by automatically throwing a snowball to the opponent that freezes random tiles of the board and preventing them from being matched.

Gameplay
Each Mahjong tile-set is made up of 144 tiles. There are 136 matching tiles, 4 Flowers and 4 season tiles. The actual tiles will vary depending on the tile set you have selected but each set maintains the same groups and relationships. The Flower and Season tiles don’t match exactly, but there is always a visual relationship among the tiles in each group. You can match any Flower tile with any other Flower tile and any Season tile with any other season tile.

The objective of the game is to remove all of the tiles from the layout. Click on any two matching tiles to remove them. A tile is available to be clicked upon if its left or right edge is exposed and no tiles are covering any part of the tile. 

At Mahjong Duels, players can take the advantage by interrupting their opponent’s play: the game features a blue bar, that when filled from a player, a snowball will be thrown at their opponent, freezing randomly a number of tiles. The freezing will last for a few seconds during which the opponent cannot play with the frozen tiles.
